FRIENDS FOSTER AILING 19-YEAR-OLD LAB MIX SURRENDERED TO TEXAS SHELTER AND ‘SPOIL HER ROTTEN’

Unfortunately, this was not always the case. The former owner of a large Labrador retriever mix transferred him to a Dallas Animal Services facility for the summer. The vets estimated that Annie had barely a month to live when she arrived at the shelter in poor condition.

To ensure Annie's final month was filled with love, Dallas Animal Services shared Annie's story on social media and urged animal lovers to consider fostering the dog.

When Lauren Seiler read Annie's ad on Dallas Animal Services, the business analyst said she "knew I had to figure out how to get her."

Seiler then continues, "I sent her picture to Lisa, my roommate and best friend, who saw it and exclaimed, 'We have to get her. '" "

Through Dallas Animal Services, Siler and her friend Lisa Flores have placed an application for the elderly dog's care. The pair were sent by the shelter to The Powerful Rescue, which took over Annie's care while she waited for a sitter.

The Powerful Rescue was "very honest about Annie's illness and that the vets expected we would have a month with her," according to Siler when she sought adoption with Flores.

Annie's quick deadline made little difference to Syler and Flores. The friends decide to sponsor a Lab mix and give her "the best fluffy month of her life" after they first connected while working at the same elementary school five years earlier. To ensure that Annie's days were full of fun, love, and comfort, Siler and Flores created her Bucket List.

"Lisa and I only expected her to be with us for a month when we adopted her at the end of June. I had the idea to create a bucket list at that time," Siler claims.

We started with a few activities, like a car trip, swimming, a birthday party, and Christmas in July, and things grew from there, according to the woman.

Flores and Syler, who have been documenting Annie List's adventures on Instagram (@dallasanimalfoster), realized that Annie "wasn't quite ready to go" towards the end of July, so the friends kept adding to the list.

More than 19,000 Annie supporters have suggested what the older dog should do next, according to Seiler. "She gave her over 500 Valentines for Valentine's Day in August, produced paintings, worked as a chef, made homemade dog meals, baby showers, went on a hamburger ride, and so much more," said Siler.

By a wide margin, Annie exceeded her vet's expectations. The dog, whose survival in June was not expected to last another month, is still having fun with her foster family today.

You probably quickly realized this was the "good life" by settling into it. We'd spoil her rotten, say "yes" to whatever she asks, take her places, and provide for her for the rest of her life with us, says Siler.

When Annie isn't crossing off something else from her to-do list, she likes to take naps, take afternoon naps, go to the bathroom, and pick up the mail.

It shines when fan mail packages are being delivered. Just funny! She is genuinely radiant and loves receiving mail. "We started picturing her 'smile' whenever she got a message on Instagram, and a lot of people noticed," Siler says.

Annie loves food and will be "dance-happy" when she eats. Siler and Flores hope that after seeing Annie's adorable puppy-like cuteness, Annie's fans will be inspired to give older rescue animals a chance.

We strongly advise individuals to farm. Sad to say, because the shelters are so full, these animals are often euthanized if no one volunteers to care for them. While Annie is exceptional to us, she is not a rhino. Right now, the shelter houses hundreds of rhinos. Annie residents. They're just waiting for someone to take care of them," Sayer says.

The senior dogs at the shelter have given too much of themselves to someone. I think we owe it to these seniors to help them live their lives to the fullest.”

As long as the dog is motivated and enthusiastic enough to participate, Annie's list will remain active. Instagram user @dallasanimalfoster is where you can catch up on Annie's latest antics.
