After Being Dumped & Left For Dead On Christmas, “Miracle” Dog Is Adopted By Officer Who Saved Her Life

Miracles are hard to come by these days, but there's no better way to describe the abandoned dog that nearly died after being left in a bin on Christmas Day.

According to WSBTV, someone heard the little dog's cries for help and called police. When officers arrived, they found a frozen, malnourished dog wrapped in a garbage bag and being cruelly disposed of like trash. The dog was taken to Atlanta Animal Hospital, but she was in such bad condition that no one knew if she would survive.

“She was almost completely frozen, and Doc thought three times he was going to have to put her down,” said Penny Jenkins, director of Atlanta West Veterinary Hospital, where veterinarians rushed to rescue the little dog. “But she kept fighting, and so did we,” said Jenkins, whose colleagues named the rescued dog Miracle.

Police are still searching for the cruel person who abandoned this dog on Christmas Day, leaving him to freeze to death. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Finley of the Villa Rica Police Department at 678-840-1314 or bfinley@villarica.org. (All tips will be kept anonymous.)

Even as officers search for Miracle's attacker, things are finally starting to look up for this sweet dog. Not only is the abandoned pup getting stronger by the day, but she has actually been adopted by the officer who saved her life.

“Miracle went to her new furry home yesterday with the officer who found her!!!” the veterinary staff wrote on Facebook. “She's doing very well, and we'll see her tomorrow to get a way to make sure everything in her little body is working properly.” Thank you for all your prayers, donations and messages. It is truly a Christmas miracle for everyone!

Miracle, congratulations! We are glad you found the loving home you deserve!
